Jim Goodmon
"There is no magic involved in successful broadcasting and communications.
Hard work, creativity, and commitment to our audiences, our
clients, and our employees have served us well since 1937. They
will serve us well in the future."
Jim Goodmon, A. J. Fletcher's grandson, joined Capitol Broadcasting
in 1968 and worked his way up to President and CEO. Under his
management, Capitol Broadcasting expanded into satellite communications,
the Internet, and High Definition Television (HDTV).
Jim Goodmon has been honored by many groups and organization
for his pioneering spirit and community involvement. Two of
these include being presented the Digital Pioneer Award by Broadcasting
and Cable Magazine for his efforts with putting HDTV on the
air, and the Jim Batten Media Award for bringing the Kids Voting
program to Wake County, NC. He was appointed to President Clinton's
Committee on Public Interest Obligations for Digital Broadcasters,
also known as the Gore Commission. |
