Over 100 professional staff and 250 trained volunteers provide expert medical care and supportive services to over 1,500 families each year. Hospice of Wake County serves patients and families with an interdisciplinary team that works in partnership with physicians to provide access to intermittent comprehensive care.
Hospice allows patients and families to decide where and how they want to spend their final days, weeks, and months.
Patients from newborn to elderly are cared for in their places of residence-their homes, nursing homes, rest homes, assisted living facilities or retirement centers.
At Hospice of Wake County - their philosophy is that every individual deserves the quality of life that he or she wants near life's end. Although we receive reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance, no family is ever denied the care they request due to lack of payor source.
