About Hope for Children:
Hope for Children brings together the strengths and specialties of three agencies to offer coordinated services to identify, assess and treat children exposed to family violence. Hope for Children is a collaboration of Triangle Family Services, Interact and SAFEchild. Through Hope for Children, existing agencies in Wake County are providing age-appropriate services through a coordinated approach designed to fill identified gaps in care.
"Children who are witnesses to domestic violence are very vulnerable," said Pauline M. Seitz of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Princeton, N.J. "There is a gap in services around the long-term needs of these children."
This Foundation provided a $500,000 grant over the next three years to launch Hope For Children, a new program in the Triangle. The John Rex Endowment and the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust together matched the amount. |

How To Help Hope for Children:
The strength of Hope for Children is community collaboration, designed to keep kids from slipping through the cracks. The success of the program will rely on agencies working together to refer children in need to the proper services. With your eyes, ears and action, together we can provide hopeful futures for kids exposed to family violence.
To learn how to recognize signs of a child who is traumatized from witnessing family violence, you are encouraged to attend agency trainings provided by Hope for Children. To become a referring agency or learn more about training opportunities, contact them at 919-829-5913. |
