Eat Smart, Move More...NC is guided by the work of the Eat Smart, Move More...NC (ESMM) Leadership Team, a multi-disciplinary team comprised of statewide partners working together to increase opportunities for healthy eating and physical activity.


About Eat Smart, Move More:
Eat Smart, Move More…NC is a statewide movement that promotes increased opportunities for healthy eating and physical activity wherever people live, learn, earn, play and pray.

Eat Smart, Move MoreThey want communities, schools and businesses to make it easy for people to eat healthy food and be physically active.

They encourage individuals to think differently about what they eat and how much they move, and to make choices that will help them feel good and live better.

Eat Smart, Move MoreEat Smart, Move More includes simple tips such as control portion size, enjoy more fruits and vegetables, and breastfeed your baby.  The website includes an interactive tools section with tools such as Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator, lists of snacks & drinks and learning to read food labels.  And recipes are available as well.

Eat Smart, Move More…NC's Plan is a five-year plan (2007-2012) offering overarching goals and measurable objectives for anyone working in the area of overweight and obesity prevention.

The mission of Eat Smart, Move More...NC is to reverse the rising tide of obesity and chronic disease among North Carolinians by helping them to eat smart, move more and achieve a healthy weight.

Eat Smart, Move MoreEat Smart, Move More doesn’t accept donations because they are part of State government.  They do, however, work with churches, families and other groups to teach them about healthy eating habits.
