The Durham Bulls were honored as the 2007 Maggy Award winners as the best baseball team in the Triangle. It was the second straight year the Bulls won the honor, with University of North Carolina Baseball finishing second and NC State Baseball finishing third.
WRAL-TV came out a winner in two other categories as well. WRAL-TV Anchor David Crabtree won Best TV Anchor. "Whenever viewers let you know they trust you, it is most affirming and a true honor," he told Cary Magazine. "Those of us who live in the area are blessed with a number of qualified broadcast journalists who care deeply about the people who live here. I am humbled by the trust and faith in my work." And WRAL-TV Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel repeated his reign with the 2007 Maggy for Best Meteorologist by a landslide vote. Readers voted online or via mail for the 2nd annual Maggy Awards. The publication sited their response as overwhelming to vote for the Best of the Best in Western Wake County. |
