Former Bulls skipper Bill Evers has been released from the Tampa Bay coaching staff by the Devil Rays.

On Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays announced the contract of bench coach Bill Evers - the longtime, popular and successful manager of the Durham Bulls- was not renewed.

Evers spent the last two seasons as bench coach under Manager Joe Maddon. Evers managed the Bulls to five division titles and two championships in eight years with Durham. COMMENT
