WRAL-TV to Broadcast 45th Annual Tower Lighting
Half hour special will air December 1st at 7pm

WRAL tower lightingAs has become an annual tradition, WRAL-TV will turn its 300 foot television tower into a giant Christmas tree on Wednesday, December 1, 2004. WRAL will count down to its 45th annual tower lighting with a half-hour special hosted by Anchors David Crabtree, Debra Morgan, and Gerald Owens beginning at 7pm.

WRAL plans for an evening full of music, the holiday spirit and a special video feature of David Crabtree climbing the tower to help check and change bulbs - how high will he go? Musical guests include the St. Francis Brass Band, of which WRAL-TV Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel is a member, and singing group The Capital Ambassadors.

Watch for the “Tower Lighting Countdown Clock” starting in the Noon News on Wednesday.

The entire special will be outdoors, weather permitting. The tower lighting is free and open to the public.
