During the same show, Christy Woodard of Clayton received the most online votes to earn a spot as a Wild Card. Scott is a 34-year-old vocal artist, and Woodard is a 23-year-old accounting manager at a mechanical company. From July 1 - 4 viewers went online and voted for their Ultimate Wild Card pick. They chose from the five Wild Card selections, one gleaned from each semi-final show.
The audience decision is in and the Ultimate Wild Card winner will be announced at the beginning of the finals show. That contestant and Scott will join Salimah Bryant of Fayetteville, Jason Carroll of Franklinton, Anita Norris of Raleigh and Veeda McClary of Raleigh in the live one-hour finale on Wednesday, July 7 at 8pm. These six local singers will compete for the grand prize. The finale will also feature a performance by Raleigh's own Krishnar, an up-and-coming recording artist signed by Universal. Krishnar is an actor, model, and vocal artist who's living the dream, debuting his solo R&B career with his single "Codependent." Gimme the Mike's finale will be broadcast live from the BTI Center for the Performing Arts Fletcher Opera Theater in downtown Raleigh. The show is free and open to the public. Seating is limited. Admission will begin at 7:15pm. |
