On November 17, 2004 Ardie Gregory, Vice President and General Manager of WRAL-FM and The North Carolina News Network (NCNN), was elected to serve on the Capitol Broadcasting Company Board of Directors. At the same time, she was also elected as Vice President of CBC's Radio Division. Ardie, who is celebrating her 20th year with CBC, is tirelessly dedicated to her staff, listeners, local artists, and the Triangle Community. Her contributions to a vast array of special interest groups have helped formulate her legacy of commitment to the Triangle area. As an advocate for children, she has been involved with raising money for both Johns Hopkins and Duke Children's Hospitals, and is actively working with law enforcement as a media representative to enact the Amber Plan in North Carolina. Further, she has worked with various organizations to raise money and awareness for the homeless and for battered women. Ardie currently serves on several boards including the National Advisory Board for Duke Children's Hospital, Scenic North Carolina and The Computer Training Partnership. She is President of the prestigious North Carolina Association of Broadcasters. Also, she is an alumnus of Class IX of Leadership North Carolina, and was just selected as one of ten “WOMEN EXTRAORDINAIRE FOR 2004” by Business Leader Magazine. As a woman in broadcasting, Ardie offers a different perspective and style. She believes in a collaborative team effort and has built her team with different personalities, strengths, and expert skill sets combining to make WRAL-FM the success it is today.
