During their last homestand in May, the Durham Bulls players, coaches and Wool E. Bull stopped by to see the kids at Duke Children's Hospital and UNC Children's Hospital. They visited Duke on Thursday, May 22, 2003, and UNC on Tuesday, May 27. Manager Bill Evers
and a bunch of the players spent an hour at each hospital visiting the
children, playing games and signing autographs for the kids. The team
brought Durham Bulls pennants for each of the kids so they could get something
signed.
"I've gotten to do this the last couple of years and it's a lot of fun," Bulls second baseman Brooks Badeaux said, "The kids are great. They don't dwell on whatever's ailing them. They're kids. They see us here and just want to play." |
