Post 5 Members Honored |

The Learning-For-Life/Exploring
program of the Occoneechee Council of the Boy Scouts of America
honored several members of WRAL-TV's Post 5 at its annual awards
dinner on Thursday, May 3. The event took place at the WakeMed Center
in Raleigh.

Clerk Sarah Williamson received "Explorer of the Year" honors. A
rising junior at North Carolina State, Williamson works in the WRAL-TV
News department as part-time editor. Williamson has been a member
of Post 5 for four years and served as host/anchor for "SpeakOut,"
a teen-talk show produced by Post 5. She also received a special
$500 award from District Chairperson Carolyn Grant. Also of note,
Williamson was a finalist for the national " Young Americans Scouting
Scholarship Award " for 2000.

Post 5 President Adam
Attarian has been a member of WRAL-TV's Post 5 for three years and is
serving as President for the 2000-2001 session. Attarian has produced
and directed most of this season's productions. A segment of "SpeakOut"
on school violence recently aired on WRAL-TV's "Q&A" news/public affairs
program.
Advisors for Post
5 include WRAL-TV Anchor/Reporter Ken Smith, CBC VP of Community Affairs
Paul Pope, and WRAL-TV Director/Producer Clarence Williams.

Paul Pope Jr. Award, named for CBC's Pope recognizes outstanding
service as an advisor. Tony Fraccola, advisor to Post #371 (left
