CBC played host
to Russian Serghei Terentii during the last week of May and first
day of June. Terentii is visiting Raleigh through the Community
Connections program and became a temporary intern at WRAL-TV, Microspace
and DTV Plus to learn the ropes of our cutting edge technology.
The US Dept
of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (BECA) sponsors
the program which made Terentii's visit possible, while the International
Visitors Council coordinated the brief internship through Community
Connections.
Terentii began
his visit at WRAL-TV on Tuesday, May 29th. After spending two days
under the guidance of Special Projects Manager John Harris, Terentii
spent a day at Microspace. Account Manager Curt Tilly gave him a
tour of the satellite control room and Account Manager Paula McGraw
gave him an overview of the CBC subsidiary. The Russian intern completed
his stay at CBC with a day at DTV Plus, learning from General Manager
Sam Matheny. CBC's VP of HD John Greene also played a critical role
in Terentii's visit to the CBC subsidiaries.
Terentii hails
from Moldova where he owns a telecommunications company. The 36-year-old
Russian is interning at a variety of companies and studying academic
