"Complete
TV" will combine the digital signal of WRAL Digital with the datacasting
and broadband internet access of DTV Plus. Other partners in the
venture include Texas Instruments,
Panasonic, Internet
Broadcasting Systems (IBS), RAVISENT
Technologies, RKR Video,
Decisionmark and Now
Audio/Video.
Capitol
Broadcasting Company President & CEO Jim Goodmon looks forward to
exploring the possibilities of the synergy between these various
groups. He said, "We are delighted to bring this exciting, first
of its kind project to the Raleigh-Durham market. 'Complete TV'
is an execution of our vision of the future of home entertainment
and community service programs broadcast digitally to the home.
As a leading proponent of digital broadcasting, we feel we have
much to contribute with high-definition television and datacasting.
We stand on the edge of a news and home entertainment revolution."
A
pilot test group is now being formed from families in the Raleigh-Durham
area. These guinea pigs will use and experiment with the new system
and its capabilities for six months and then get together with the
projects management and engineers to discuss their experiences,
likes and dislikes.
