Goodmon Chairs YMCA Campaign

The Capital Area YMCA, Garner Road YMCA and YMCA of Greater Durham are joining forces for the 2001 YMCA We Build People Campaign. Capitol Broadcasting Company President & CEO Jim Goodmon is chairing the fundraising campaign, which kicked off with a banquet on Tuesday, June 19, in the Triangle.

These YMCA's set a goal of $2.4 million for the 2001 campaign, with a victory celebration planned for March 2002. A host of business leaders from the Triangle area are heading the campaigns at the individual YMCAs throughout the central part of the state.

The Capital Area YMCA, Garner Road YMCA and YMCA of Greater Durham work together to provide financial assistance and outreach programs to more than 7,000 children and families throughout the central North Carolina community. That added up to $3 million in donated services last year.

The YMCA dedicates itself to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

CBC's Jim Goodmon is chairing the fundraising campaign.

Executives from across the Triangle will help Goodmon in the quest for $2.4 million for the YMCA programs in this part of the state.
