NCNN: Another Quality Capitol Broadcasting Product

The North Carolina News Network (NCNN), part of Capitol Broadcasting Company's Capitol Networks, provides multiple daily newscasts to over 90 radio affiliates in North Carolina. Reaching one in three adults aged 25-54 each week, the network has been going strong since 1942.

NCNN provides news, sports and weather via satellite broadcasts seven days a week. "We try to ensure our listeners have information they need about what is going on across North Carolina," said News Director

Center, "Budget 2001" aired on over 62 stations statewide. NC Governor Mike Easley decided to address the State with the help of these two news entities in order to keep North Carolina citizens informed about the current budget and fiscal crises confronting the State. "Budget 2001" was a 30-minute program discussing the status of the North Carolina state budget and featured an address to the State from Governor Easley, the Republican response from House Minority Leader Leo Daughtry and

Senate Minority Leader Patrick Ballantine. The balance of the 30-minute program was filled by a panel of journalists commenting on the issues discussed in the two presentations.
