Bulls Named To IL All-Star Team
Hall League's Only Unanimous Choice

The International League's All-Star squad has been named, and the Durham Bulls can boast the only unanimous choice on the roster.


Durham Bulls Catcher Toby Hall

Bulls Catcher Toby Hall ranks among the International League leaders in all of baseball's Triple Crown categories and received every selector's vote to the All-Star team. Hall is third in the league in hitting (.336), second in home runs (15) and first in RBI's (55).

Fellow Durham Bull First Baseman Ron Wright will join Hall on the team. Wright has a hitting average of .293, has hit 12 homers and has 41 RBIs for the 2001 season thus far. Bulls Manager

Bill Evers will coach the IL All-Star team. He has led the Bulls to the South Division title in all three years of the Bulls Triple-A status.

The IL team will face the Pacific Coast League squad in the 4th Annual Triple-A All-Star game in Indianapolis on July 11 at 7:00pm. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

The IL All-Stars hope to win back the title after two years of PCL victories. The IL last won the All-Star game in its debut in Norfolk in 1998.

The All-Star teams are selected by media representatives, club field staff and club and league administrators.
Bulls Increase Attendance

So far in the 2001 season, the Durham Bulls boast the largest percentage increase in attendance in the IL over last year. With an 8% increase, the Bulls moved from 6108 attendees to 6579. The Durham Bulls currently rank 4th in average attendance for the IL behind Louisville, Buffalo and Indianapolis.
