Former Durham Bull Stand Out Receives Another Honor

For the second time in three years, a Durham Bulls player has been named season Most Valuable Player. The International League announced its post-season All-Star Team and Award Winners last week, and former Durham Bulls catcher Toby Hall headed the list as the league's 2001 season MVP.

Hall, called up by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in late July, batted .335 with 19 homeruns and 72 RBI's in 94 games with the Bulls this season. The 25 year-old catcher led the league with his batting average.

Hall played in both the International League's All-Star game and Major League Baseball's Future's game earlier in the season. He batted 2-3 with one homerun in the Future's game and snagged the MVP title for the game.
