Networks Staff Seen as Industry Leaders in their Fields |
Sam Matheny, General
Manager of the Capitolnet Marketing Group (CMG), will be talking about
the state of Internet advertising, streaming media, and e-commerce as
part of the 1999 North Carolina State University College of Management
Faculty Workshop Series. This series is dedicated to understanding the
changes taking place in the business world as a result of e-commerce.
The goal is to help foster innovation in graduate curricula at NC State.
The workshop consists of daily meetings from May 10 to May 27, with many
sessions including invited speakers from a who's who on Internet e-commerce
pioneers, including Wachovia, First Union, Cisco, Interpath, and UC Berkeley.
Presenting at a conference is not a new experience for Sam Matheny. Matheny
traveled to Atlanta, GA this past April with Bev Holt, the general manager
for Capitol Agribusess, to co-host a session at the 1999 Agri-Marketing
Conference & Trade Show. Their talk, entitled "Brave New Innovations for
Product Introductions," focused on how agricultural marketers can use
the Internet, video and the World Wide Web to introduce products. Through
this proven combination of mediums, marketers can reach thousands of potential
customers, generate excitement prior to the introduction of a new product,
extend the life of the information beyond a single event, and drive traffic
to a web site.
CMG,
a division of Capitol Networks (the radio broadcasting arm of Capitol
Broadcasting) is an Internet-based company that combines informative and
entertaining content with innovative marketing solutions. Sam Matheny
has years of experience with networked communication systems, broadband
video/audio conferencing, Internet, and the World Wide Web. He supervises
the on-going operation of CMG's current Web sites, multi-media services,
the development and implementation of catalog and commerce services, and
the creation and design of future CMG Web properties.
Capitol
AgriBusiness, a division of Capitol Networks, provides hourly farm news

the southernfarmer.com web site, designed for farmers and others involved
in agriculture in the Southeastern US, features daily radio farmcasts
and market reports in Real Audio, a comprehensive weather map, commodity
