Scroll of Time Mural Dedicated to Ray Wilkinson

The Wake County Parks System unveiled a Scroll of Time mural at the Historic Oak View County Park in Wake County, NC that depicts over 300 years of agriculture in North Carolina. The mural was dedicated to retired CBC employee Ray Wilkinson, in honor of his long time commitment to the agriculture industry in North Carolina.

Scroll of Time Mural

The mural, created by Wake County artist Luana Luconi Winner, depicts the history of agriculture from settlement to today. The mural is located on the wall in the History Farm Center. Visitors at Oak View are invited to take a 165 year step back in time and experience what farm life was like. Historic Oak View offers a 17 acre shaded pecan grove and gardens, Oak Views' historic 1830 house and adjoining buildings, the History Farm Center, and the Cotton Museum.

Throughout the year, History Oak View offers special events (such as the Storytelling Festival and Heritage Day), concerts, and traveling exhibits (such as the Major League/Minor League Baseball traveling Smithsonian Exhibit). Educational programming also is available to private and public school groups. Artist Luana Luconi Winners, shown here with Ray Wilkinson, has a gallery and studio in Artsplosure. She was commissioned by the United Arts Council to paint the mural as part of their Art Work in Public Places Program.
