Wilkinson Rides in Style at the July 4th Festivities in Castalia,
NC |
Dan Wilkinson was a speaker at the fourth of July festivities this year
in Castalia, NC. He spoke about the price the signers of the Declaration
of Independence paid for their courage in standing up against the British,
and the responsibility each American has to protect and defend our great
nation.
The farmers of the area designed a float for Wilkinson, the farm News
Director of WRAL-TV and Dir. of Ag.Productions for the Capitol AgriBusiness
Networks, to ride on during the parade.
The float, which was pulled by a giant John Deere 4640, was a rare and
classic antique John Deere tractor surrounded by local farm products.
Joining him on the float were his children Daniel and Kasiey, and his
wife Barbara.
"I'm honored by the float," Dan said, "Nothing compares to a small town
celebration where everybody in town turns out and where the spirit of
America can still be felt."
