On Monday, April 6, fans had their first opportunity to watch the new Triple-A Durham Bulls in action. Fans packed the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC in record numbers to watch the special, pre-season exhibition game between the American League East team, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and their Triple-A minor league affiliate, the Durham Bulls.

fans had their first opportunity to watch the new Triple-A Durham Bulls
in action. Fans packed the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC in
record numbers to watch the special, pre-season exhibition game between
the American League East team, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and their Triple-A
minor league affiliate, the Durham Bulls. Fans experienced great baseball
during the exhibition game. The day started with a special luncheon to
celebrate the Durham Bulls Youth Summer Baseball League. The League is
a joint effort between the Durham Bulls, the City of Durham, and the Durham
Housing Authority. The program began in 1993, and offers Durham inner
city boys and girls ages 6 - 15 an opportunity to play in an organized
baseball league. Approximately 700 kids play on 48 teams.
